comScore: Mobile Social Networking Picks Up
MEDIAPOST — Mobile social networking is gaining ground. As of January, 17.1% of U.S. mobile subscribers went to a social networking site or blog compared to 13.8% in October, according to new data from comScore MobiLens. The Web measurement firm last week reported Facebook and Twitter have both seen triple-digit traffic growth on the mobile Web in the last year, reaching U.S. audiences of 25.1 million and 4.7 million, respectively. (MySpace's mobile site dropped 7% to 11.4 million.) Highlighting broader growth, Facebook recently announced cracking 100 million active mobile users worldwide...

Study: 79% Of Twitter Accounts Are Not Actively Used
MARKETING PILGRIM — Lots of cool Twitter statistics coming out of Barracuda Networks new study (pdf). Where do I start? 21% of Twitter users are actually using the service–meaning that have at least 10 followers, follow at least 10 people, and have tweeted at least 10 times. 74% of Twitter users have less than 10 followers! Comscore Study: Social Gamers Want Marketing Offers For Currency
TECHCRUNCH — A new study by Comscore will be released on Wednesday that may give hope to social gaming startups trying to monetize users. 35% of the survey respondents said that they engage in "marketing actions" to earn virtual currency (such as watching a video, filling out a survey, etc.), and 53% said they be willing to consider marketing action for currency if given the choice. The study was conducted by Comscore, sponsored by Offerpal, and included responses from 799 Comscore panelists who play games on social networks at least once per month. 54% of panelists play games at least daily...
